BATON ROUGE – The No. 58 LSU women’s tennis team is set to complete its regular season at home on Saturday as they host a doubleheader between No. 50 Arkansas and Jackson State. The Lady Tigers will face Arkansas at 11 a.m. CT followed by a 5 p.m. CT match against Jackson State at W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium.
LSU is currently 10-12 (1-10 SEC) on the season after falling to Georgia on Sunday. The Lady Tigers have played 16 ranked teams this season, including five Top 10 teams.
Arkansas is 13-14 (2-10 SEC), while Jackson State holds a 3-13 record this season.
LSU leads the series against Arkansas 18-17 after the Razorbacks defeated the Lady Tigers 6-1 on April 13, 2013.
“I think the Arkansas match is going to be one of our hardest battles of the year,” said LSU head coach Julia S. Sell. “We are both very hungry for the win. We are hungry to go into the SEC tournament with some confidence because we both know that if we go on a nice little run here, it would be great for us.”
This marks the first time the Lady Tigers will face Jackson State.
