BATON ROUGE – LSU men’s basketball coach Johnny Jones announced on Thursday that guard Corban Collins has left the LSU men’s basketball program and will explore his options to play at another school.

“We have granted a release from LSU to guard Corban Collins,” said Coach Jones. “We appreciate his hard work during his time here and wish him well in the future.”

The guard from High Point, N.C., played 27 games as a freshman for the Tigers during the 2012-13 season with six starts. He averaged 2.6 points and 1.0 rebounds.

Collins scored a combine 30 points in back-to-back December games against Chattanooga and at Boise State, hitting 10-of-22 field goals and 7-of-12 three-pointers as he scored 19 at Boise and 11 versus Chattanooga. For the season he was 12-of-26 from the three-point arc.
