BATON ROUGE – For the second straight year, the LSU men’s basketball team took part in the final day of baseball activities for the Ascension Parish Recreation Center.
The league is for children ages 4-13, both with and without developmental disabilities, who live in Ascension Parish.
The league is funded in part by the Jambalaya Project, a project by the Resource Center on Psychiatric & Behavioral Supports (a division of the Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities) made possible by a grant awarded by the Louisiana Developmental Disabilities Council. It is intended to offer children, with or without disabilities, to participate together in non-competitive recreational activities such as T-ball, basketball, and arts & crafts.
Coach Johnny Jones and several of the players joined in a T-Ball game with the youngsters and also were on hand for the presentation of their awards.
