BATON ROUGE – In the wake of a successful weekend of qualifying at the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Jacksonville, Fla., the Lady Tigers remain No. 1 and the Tigers have climbed up to No. 2 in the latest Top 25 power ranking released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The Lady Tigers are the nation’s No. 1-ranked team for the third-straight week as they have held on to the top spot in the ranking following their victory at the SEC Outdoor Championships on May 13.

Trailing LSU in the latest women’s power ranking are a quartet of national championship contenders with No. 2 Kansas, No. 3 Oregon, No. 4 Texas A&M and No. 5 Clemson rounding out the nation’s Top 5.
