BATON ROUGE – LSU head basketball coach Johnny Jones announced on Tuesday the schedule for the 2012 Johnny Jones Basketball Camps to be held on the LSU campus at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and the new basketball practice facility attached to the north side of the building.
The Day Camp for rising grades 3-8 is set for June 11-14 to be followed by a Father-Son camp on June 15-16. The final session is a Tiger Cub Camp on June 25-28.
The Day Camp, with a registration deadline of June 1, costs $250 and includes lunch each day, T-shirt and Camp Basketball. Campers in the Day Camp will learn and improve fundamental basketball skills, learn to be a good team player and have fun. Dismissal is between 3:30 and 4 p.m. each afternoon.
The Father-Son overnight camp is $205 for a father and son with a $75 charge for each additional son. Included in the registration fee is an accommodation in an LSU dormitory, T-Shirt and Camp Ball. The camp is open to fathers of all ages and sons in riding grades 1-8. The camp is a great opportunity for a father and their sons to have an opportunity to learn the game, while spending quality time together on Father’s Day Weekend. The deadline for registration for this camp is June 8.
The Tiger Cub Camp will have a registration fee of $140 and all those in the morning camp will receive a T-Shirt and Camp Ball. The event runs from 9 a.m. to Noon each day for entering grades 1-3. The purpose of the Tiger Cub Camp is to introduce future Tigers to the most basic fundamentals of the game of basketball and learn the first steps of enjoying a team sport. The registration deadline is June 18.
