Women's Tennis Visits Children's Hospital

BATON ROUGE – Nine members of the LSU women’s tennis team took time out of their Spring Break to visit patients at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital on Thursday morning.

Whitney Wolf, Olivia Howlett, Kaitlin Burns, Keri Frankenberger, Ebie Wilson, Hayley Everett, Ariel Morton, Paige Bahnsen and team manager Danny Adler all participated in the community service visit.

“It’s really good to have this opportunity to give back to the community,” Everett said “It’s fun to see the smile on the kids’ faces knowing that just our quick visit here can give them the strength to get through.”

Members of the team made surprise visits going from room-to-room of all the patients that could have visitors. The team helped to encourage the children and their families, handing out posters and t-shirts along the way.

“My favorite part about the visit was seeing all the kids smiling,” Frankenberger said. “We know that they really enjoyed seeing an athletic team come through and give them someone to look up to. It was exciting to get such a warm welcome from parents and patients.”

The Lady Tigers will take the W.T. Dub Robinson Stadium courts for their final home match of the season and Senior Day on Saturday at 1 p.m. CT.
