The H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship has been presented by the Southeastern Conference since 1986 to the league’s top male and female scholar-athletes.

The SEC Community Service Post-Graduate Scholarship was named for former Associate Commissioner Brad Davis.  Davis succumbed to cancer on March 2, 2006. He had been a member of the SEC staff since 1988, first serving as an assistant commissioner until 1994 when he was promoted to associate commissioner.

Seeing action as a forward, midfielder and defender on the soccer team from Liberty, Mo., Alexander started all 45 matches for the Tigers during her two seasons highlighted by a SEC Western Division crown and NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance in 2009.

Carlsson, a native of Uppsala, Sweden, has been a three-year starter and team captain of the men’s tennis team during the last two seasons. He and doubles partner Neal Skupski are currently ranked No. 12 in the nation and defeated the nation’s No. 1 duo from Texas A&M earlier this season.

Carlsson is a three-time ITA Scholar, member of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society  and LSU Athletic Director’s Cup for Academic Excellence recipient. He will earn a B.S. degree in Biological Sciences in December 2011.

A pole vaulter from New Orleans, Rose has competed as a two-year letterwinner in both indoor and outdoor track and field. He is the Community Outreach Co-Chair of LSU’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). He recently teamed biological engineering students as well as teachers and administrators from Sharon Hills Elementary School in constructing an impressive new playground.

Rose also created and coordinated “Geaux Givers Recruits”, serving as tour guides to middle school students to LSU’s campus and athletic facilities. He is Chancellor’s and Dean’s List student and is scheduled to earn a B.S. degree in Kinesiology in August 2011.

Trepp, a swimmer from Tallinn, Estonia, recently secured her place as one of the top swimmers in program history. She finished her career recently with four NCAA First-Team All-America honors in addition to being a six-time NCAA Honorable Mention All-American and an SEC champion. Trepp is also the SEC record holder in the 100-yard breaststroke.

In the classroom, Trepp is a Chancellor’s List and Dean’s List student. She also is a two-time College Swim Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American and will earn a B.S. degree in Psychology in December 2011.
