Golfer McChrystal Named NGCA All-American

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Just hours after her record setting final round of 64 in the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championship, LSU’s Megan McChrystal was named a second-team All-American for her play at the annual National Golf Coaches Association banquet that followed the conclusion of the tournament late Friday night.

McChrystal earned second team A-A honors for the second straight year and becomes the fifth golfer in the 30-plus years of the program to earn multiple on-course All-American honors from the NGCA.

McChrystal finished the season with a win in the Tiger-Wave Golf Classic at English Turn and her amazing record journey around the course on Friday that set school, course and NCAA records for a single round.

Her five-under 213 total also dropped her final scoring average for the season to 72.8. Last year, she became the first LSU women’s golfer in history to average below 73 for an entire season.
