BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s basketball program was rewarded Thursday with a No. 19 ranking in the latest College Basketball Recruiting Rankings announced by ESPNU.
LSU moved up from just outside the Top 25 in the April 2010 rankings by the network.
According to ESPNU: “The Tigers freshman class is led by Matt Derenbecker, a small forward from Metairie, and Andre Stringer, a point guard from Jackson, Miss. Coach Trent Johnson also brought in Ralston Turner, a small forward from Muscle Shoals, Ala., and K.C. Ross-Miller, a point guard from Dallas.”
Three of the six players LSU has signed are ranked in ESPN’s individual top 100 players. Also signed by LSU were Jalen Courtney of Jackson, Miss., and Justin Hamilton, who will sit out the 2010-11 season after transferring from Iowa State.
