Softball Swing for the Cure Event Set for April 30

BATON ROUGE – The LSU softball team will play host to its 2nd Annual Swing for the Cure Event during its regular season home finale against Georgia on April 30th to benefit the Baton Rouge Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

Game times are slated for 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. with fans wearing pink receiving free admission. The series finale will be televised by ESPNU.

Breast cancer survivors who pre-register online will be acknowledged on the field prior to the 8 p.m. contest and will be treated to special seating as part of the event. Children of survivors from ages 4-12 also have the opportunity to partake in the pregame ball exchange with the Tigers. Interested participants have until 5 p.m. CST on Tuesday, April 27, to apply.
 
Fans can already get involved by printing out and completing the donation card (.pdf). Cards will be collected at Tiger Park on gameday or can be mailed with check payable to “Komen for the Cure” to:

A silent auction and donation tables will be set up throughout Tiger Park on gameday. Check LSUsports.net in the near future for information on auction items.

Tickets for the Georgia series are on-sale now and can be purchased online on LSUsports.net, the official Web site of LSU Athletics. Tickets also can be purchased in person at the ticket office on the first floor of the Athletics Administration Building or by calling (225) 578-2184 or (800) 960-8587.
