Men's Golf in 26th After 2 Rounds at NCAA Championship

Fayetteville, Ark. – The LSU men’s golf team scored a 14-over par 302 in the second round of the NCAA Championship at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. LSU is now in 26th place with a 36-hole score of 610.

Philip Barbaree shot a 2-over 74 to lead the Tigers in the second round. Barbaree’s round consisted of three birdies, nine pars, four bogeys and one double bogey. He is in a tie for 60th place along with Luis Gagne who shot 3-over 75 in the second round. Both players are sitting at 6-over for the tournament. Michael Sanders (4-over 76) and Garrett Barber (5-over 77) provided the next two lowest scorers for the Purple and Gold on Saturday. Trey Winstead checked in with an 8-over 80.

Oklahoma State owns the clubhouse team lead with a 10-under 566 and Austin Eckroat (OSU) is the individual leader with a 6-under 138. After the third round of play on Sunday an initial cut will be made and only the top 15 teams will advance. LSU is currently 10 strokes away from the teams sitting in a tie for 14th place after two rounds of play. On Monday the final cut will be made where the top eight teams will advance to match play.

The Tigers will play alongside Baylor and Illinois on Sunday and tee times will begin at 1:17 p.m. CT off of No. 10.
