Baton Rouge, La. – Aleia Hobbs won the 100 meter dash at the Shanghai Diamond League meeting on Saturday in China.
Hobbs was making her Diamond League debut after turning pro last summer. She beat a loaded field with a season-best wind-legal time of 11.03 seconds. She best Blessing Okagbare of Nigeria (11.07/2nd) and Elaine Thompson of Jamaica (11.14/3rd). Thompson was the 2016 Olympic gold medalist in the 100 and 200 meters in Rio de Janeiro.
