Gallagher Named to 2019 SEC Community Service Team

BATON ROUGE – LSU senior Kathleen Gallagher was named to the 2019 SEC Women’s Golf Community Service Team as announced by the conference office today.

Gallagher is involved in a variety of community service projects in Baton Rouge and at home in Mississippi. Alongside of her teammates, she has participated in Thanksgiving with the Tigers in conjunction with the Big Buddy program and BOOzar.

Gallagher is also heavily involved in philanthropy through the Chi Omega sorority. Those opportunities over the past four years have included Special T’s for Special Needs (playing games and making tie-dyed shirts with special needs children), Trick or Treat Down the Row (community children trick or treat up and down Greek Row), and Swishes for Wishes (a house event to raise money for the Make A Wish Foundation).

When Gallagher is home in Greenwood, Mississippi, she spends her Sunday afternoons at the local nursing home, visiting with and singing for the residents.

Gallagher, a second-generation LSU women’s golfer following in the footsteps of her mother, Cissye, completed her collegiate career this week with a second appearance in the NCAA Tournament. She graduates this weekend with a degree in Marketing.
