Burns Finishes Ninth at RBC Heritage

Hilton Head, S.C. – Sam Burns used a final round of 1-under par 70 to bring his four-day, 72-hole total to a 8-under 276 that earned him a ninth-place finish at the RBC Heritage.

Burns, who entered Sunday’s final round three strokes off the lead, started his round with an opening nine of 3-under 33 that included an eagle, two birdies, five pars and a bogey. After starting the second nine with three-straight pars, Burns birdied the par 4 13th to earn a share of the lead with five holes remaining. A costly water ball on the par 3 14th resulted in a double, and then a bogey on the 16th moved his round back to 1-under par. He closed out the tournament with two pars on No. 17 and No. 18. C.T Pan won the tournament at 12-under 272.

It marked his second top-10 finish of the season on the PGA Tour. His other top 10 came at the Sanderson Farms Championship in late October of 2018. Burns is undoubtedly playing the best golf of his season right now as he has made six straight cuts.

Burns will be back in action this week at the Zurich Classic. The Zurich is the only event on the PGA Tour where players team up together; Burns will be playing with Cameron Champ. It all begins on Thursday, April 25, at TPC Louisiana.
