Jessica Golovin Named to SEC Women's Tennis Community Service Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior Jessica Golovin was named to the Southeastern Conference Women’s Tennis Community Service Team on Thursday for her volunteering efforts in the Baton Rouge community.
Golovin was one of 14 student-athletes selected for the team, part of the SEC’s continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond their fields of competition.
The New York City native took part in LSU’s Move-In Day by helping new residents move into their apartments and dorms and worked LSU’s Halloween BOOzar, by helping children enjoy trick-or-treat activities in a safe environment at LSU’s sorority row, as well as helped run carnival games that were offered.
Golovin was also active during LSU’s Thanksgiving with the Tigers. During the event, each athletic team adopted a child through the Big Buddy program, and enjoyed time with them by sharing a turkey dinner and exchanging presents.
Golovin and the LSU women’s tennis team will conclude the regular season with a road trip that begins in Oxford against Ole Miss at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, April 12, and ends in Starkville against Mississippi State at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday, April 14.
