LSU Beach Remains at No. 4
BATON ROUGE – For the fifth consecutive week the LSU Beach Volleyball teams was ranked the No. 4 team in the nation by both the AVCA and DiG Magazine polls announced Monday.
This comes after yet another successful weekend for the Tigers who are winners of 14 of their last 15 matches. The only match in that span that LSU has lost was against No. 1 UCLA who was undefeated until No. 2 USC took them down over the weekend. The top-four has remain unchanged for five weeks.
The Tigers picked up two more wins over ranked teams against No. 11 South Carolina and No. 20 TCU at the LSU Beach Invitational over the weekend, bringing their season total of wins against Top-20 teams to 14. LSU defeated Texas A&M – Kingsville and Houston Baptist in its other two matches of the weekend.
The junior pair of Claire Coppola and Kristen Nuss on LSU’s top court made history over the weekend, becoming the two winningest players in program history as they were able to pick up their 81st career victory against HBU Sunday afternoon. The LSU duo has competed in every collegiate match together and led the way to another successful weekend in Baton Rouge.
Now 9-0 at home in the inaugural year of LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium, the Tigers will look to close the regular season out with four more home victories this weekend at the Battle on the Bayou.
