Naz Reid Declares for NBA Draft
BATON ROUGE – LSU basketball freshman Naz Reid announced on his Instagram account (IG: @hollywood.naz) Wednesday that he will be “entering the NBA Draft with an agent in hopes of finally fulfilling a dream I believe is my destiny.”
Reid averaged 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds this past season, averaging 27.2 minutes in 34 games played with 32 starts. He helped the Tigers to a Top 15 ranking in the AP poll, a Southeastern Conference regular season championship and an NCAA Sweet 16 berth. In 17 SEC games he played in, Reid averaged 13.9 points and 7.8 rebounds a contest.
Reid earned All-SEC freshman team honors and this week was named to the Collegeinsider.com Kyle Macy Freshmen All-America team.
Reid had 24 games scoring in double figures topped by 29 versus UNCG and at Mississippi State, 27 at Arkansas and 26 versus Florida.
The forward had eight double doubles topped by games of 16 points-15 rebounds and 26 points-14 rebounds in games against Florida.
Reid had 171 field goals, one off the team high and had 28 three-pointers, including three games of three or more three-point makes. He also made 93-of-128 free throws, a percentage of 72.7.
