Men's Tennis to Meet Old Dominion Thursday

BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s tennis team will square off against Old Dominion Thursday at 3:30 p.m. CT in the LSU Tennis Complex.

There will be pizza at the match for fans who attend for National Pi Day. Admission to all matches in the LSU Tennis Complex is free. Fans can follow the match at and on Twitter @LSUtennis. The match also can be streamed online at

“ODU will be a good test for us after last weekend. They were an NCAA tournament team last year and are ranked in the top-50 right now. We’ve tried to clean up a few things in singles and doubles this week in practice to get better.”

The Matchup
Thursday’s match will mark the first meeting between the two teams.

Tiger Tidbits
The Tigers are 12-4 on the year and is 7-2 at home this year. In the latest ITA polls, the Tigers are No. 38.

LSU dropped its matches last week to Tennessee and Georgia but is looking to rebound with three consecutive home matches.

Shane Monroe is the No. 112 singles player in the nation, and court one pair Rafael Wagner and Joey Thomas are the No. 43 duo.

Malik Bhatnagar has a team-best 12 wins on the dual season and has an 11-2 record on court three.

Notes on the Monarchs
Old Dominion is 7-5 overall and is coming off of a 5-2 win at SMU Tuesday. The Monarchs are No. 46 in the men’s tennis rankings.

Doubles pair Aziz Kijametovic and Francois Musitelli are the No. 30 duo in the nation.
