T&F Women (No. 3) and Men (No. 4) — USTFCCCA Rankings

Baton Rouge, La. – The LSU track and field team will enter next week’s NCAA Championships ranked as the third and fourth best teams in the nation according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The women check in at the No. 3 spot for the second time this season after a solid showing at the SEC meet. Kortnei Johnson (60 meters) and Abby O’Donoghue (high jump) claimed conference titles and helped LSU score a total of 58 points at the conference meet to place fifth overall as a team.

The men moved up one spot into the No. 4 slot after the SEC meet. It’s the second time this season the Tigers have been ranked at the four position; LSU has been a top-five team for the last five weeks. Mondo Duplantis (pole vault), JuVaughn Harrison (high jump) and Rayvon Grey (long jump) all won conference titles last weekend in Fayetteville to help push the men’s team total to 78 points (third-place finish). The third-place finish was LSU’s best showing at the SEC indoor meet since 2011.

The NCAA Championships will take place next week in Birmingham, Ala., at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday and Saturday (March 8-9).
