BATON ROUGE—The LSU women’s tennis team jumped three spots in the latest Tennis Channel/USTA College Tennis Top 25 released today to No. 12 following last week’s sweep of matches against Tulane, Rice and Southern, improving to 6-0 on the season.
The Tigers also moved up the ranks of the ITA/Oracle Collegiate Tennis Rankings for singles and doubles, also released on Wednesday.
The reigning NCAA doubles champion pair of senior Jessica Golovin and sophomore Eden Richardson moved up three spots to No. 6 and are currently 4-1 early in the season.
In singles, Richardson is currently ranked No. 19 with a 2-1 record, including a big 3-set victory over Tulane’s Laura Farizi last week.
Up next for LSU is a trip to the 2019 ITA National Team Indoor Championships starting Friday, February 8 in Seattle, Washington. The Tigers earned a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships for a second time in program history after defeating Clemson and Tennessee during the ITA Kick-off Weekend in January.
