Mainieri Announces Baseball Roster Moves

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri announced two roster moves Friday as the Tigers continue to prepare for the 2019 season.

Mainieri said that infielder Chris Reid, a senior from Baton Rouge, has been re-instated to the Tigers’ 35-man roster.

Mainieri also announced that sophomore pitcher AJ Labas, a right-hander from Fleming Island, Fla., underwent shoulder surgery on Thursday and will miss the entire 2019 season.

Reid is a .275 (69-for-251) career hitter in his first three seasons at LSU (2016-18) with 10 doubles, one triple, one homer and 24 RBI. He has played in 126 games with 67 starts, primarily at third base.

Labas, a 2018 Freshman All-American, started 13 games last season, posting a 6-2 record and a 3.48 ERA in 54.1 innings with seven walks and 32 strikeouts.
