SEC Soccer Tournament Semifinals Moved to Friday
Orange Beach, Ala. – Due to inclement weather set to move into the Orange Beach, Ala., area on Thursday, the SEC Soccer Tournament semifinal matches have been pushed back to Friday (Nov. 2). Both matches will still be televised on the SEC Network.
Seventh-seeded LSU, originally scheduled to play on Thursday, will now play on Friday (Nov. 2) against sixth seeded and No. 17 South Carolina at approximately 2:30 p.m. CT on the SEC Network. Eighth-seeded Florida and No. 4 seed Arkansas will play the first semifinal match on Friday at 12 p.m. CT and LSU’s match with South Carolina will follow.
It will be the sixth all-time appearance for LSU in the SEC Tournament semifinals, and the second in the last four years. The Tigers downed 10th seeded Missouri, 3-2, on Sunday as Alex Thomas became the first player in LSU history to register a hat trick at the SEC Tournament. On Tuesday, LSU took No.12 and second seeded Tennessee to double overtime before advancing on penalties by a tally of 7-6. Caroline Brockmeier came up with two big saves and Meghan Johnson nailed the game winner to advance LSU to the semifinals.
