Student-Athletes, Fans Enjoy Annual Halloween BOOzar

BATON ROUGE – In what has become a Halloween Tradition on campus, LSU student-athletes, coaches and staff members from all sports distributed candy and played games with children at the Halloween BOOzar on Sorority Row over the weekend.

The BOOzar, now in its 23rd year, is an event that connects LSU student-athletes and coaches with the community. The BOOzar is part of LSU’s Trick or Treat Down the Row.

“This is a great event for our student-athletes and our coaches as it gives them the opportunity to connect with members of our community in a fun atmosphere,” LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva said. “You can certainly see how much our student-athletes enjoyed being part of this community event.”

Taking pictures and getting autographs from LSU student-athletes were also a big part of the afternoon.

“The BOOzar is such a great event,” said LSU softball player Michaela Schlattman. “It was great to interact with our community and spread the Halloween spirit. It was exciting to see so many people out there.”

Blake Ferguson from LSU football agreed, “It is such a great opportunity to connect with the kids in our community. Having an opportunity to be positive role models for them at an event like this is awesome as well. They love to come out and trick-or-treat, and we love to see the awesome costumes and hang out with future Tigers.”
