Women's Golf On The Road At Magnolia Invitational
BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU women’s golfers Kathleen Gallagher and Presley Baggett travel home to Mississippi for the 2018 Magnolia Invitational, October 14-16, at the Old Waverly Golf Course in West Point.
Gallagher, a senior from Greenwood, Mississippi, posted a top-5 finish at the Magnolia Invitational last season with a 2-under 214. This will be Gallagher’s 33rd consecutive team tournament as a Lady Tiger.
For the rookie from Canton, Mississippi, this will be the first time for Baggett to compete at Old Waverly as a collegian. Baggett is playing in her second tournament of the season.
Joining Gallagher and Baggett in the starting five will be junior Monica Dibildox, sophomore Kendall Griffin and freshman Alden Wallace. Through the first two tournaments of the season, Wallace leads the team with a 72.25 stroke average, followed by Dibildox at 73.00 and Gallagher at 73.25.
The Old Waverly Golf Course plays as a par 72 with a distance of 7,088 yards. The 13-team field includes co-hosts Ole Miss and Mississippi State, Auburn, Coastal Carolina, East Tennessee State, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Oklahoma, Southern Miss and Virginia Tech.
Each of the three rounds will begin at 8 a.m. CT. Sunday and Monday will have fixed tee times on holes No. 1 and No. 10, with a shotgun start for the final round on Tuesday. LSU is scheduled to tee off with Coastal Carolina and Oklahoma at 9:40 a.m. from No. 1. Live scoring will be available at GolfStat.com.
