WACO, Texas—The LSU women’s tennis team concluded their competition at the H-E-B Invitational hosted by Baylor on Saturday.
Junior Paris Corley fought a hard match against Baylor’s Kristina Sorokolet in the quarterfinals of singles play. Corley sent the match into three sets but Sorokolet secured the win, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3.
After impressive wins on Friday, the duo of Corley and sophomore Luba Vasilyuk dropped their semifinal match on Saturday against Fernanda Labrana and Katie Poluta of Texas, 6-2.
“These fall matches provide invaluable match play. We get to truly see their strengths and vulnerabilities, and we continue to grow and improve,” said co-head Michael Sell. “They are true Tigers who love to compete and it’s been an extremely positive weekend.”
The Lady Tigers will be back in action Oct. 13 for the ITA Southern Regional Tournament in Oxford, Mississippi.
