ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The LSU volleyball team dropped its second match of the day, falling to No. 20 Michigan in three sets by scores of 14-25, 11-25, 20-25 Friday evening in Cliff Keen Arena. The Tigers are now 2-6 on the year, while Michigan improves to 8-0.
Once again, Taylor Bannister led the way with eight kills. Jacqui Armer finished with seven kills and a team-high .263 hitting percentage. Raigen Cianciulli and Katie Kampen anchored the back row, finishing with eight digs apiece.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- To start the match, Michigan got out to a 8-4 lead and pushed to a 15-10 lead, forcing the Tigers to their first timeout of the set.
- Whitney Foreman came out of the timeout with a kill, but Michigan went on a 4-0 scoring run to take a 19-11 lead on the Tigers. LSU used its second timeout of the set.
- The Tigers tried to get in system, but Michigan finished the set on a 10-3 run, claiming the set 25-14.
- Foreman and Bannister each had two kills in the first set, while the Tigers hit .000 to Michigan’s .344.
- LSU still looked to get in system in the second set, but Michigan got out to a 9-2 lead over the Tigers. LSU called for its first timeout.
- Michigan went on 5-1 scoring run out of the timeout, taking a 14-3 lead. LSU used its second timeout, looking to get into a rhythm.
- LSU went on a 6-0 run, forcing Michigan to take a timeout. The Tigers took advantage of Michigan’s mistakes and got a couple blocks from Toni Rodriguez and Armer.
- Michigan finished the set on a 3-0 run, claiming the second set 25-11 and taking a 2-0 lead on the match over the Tigers.
- The Tigers finished the second set with a -.180 hitting percentage to Michigan’s .167 percentage. Armer led the attack with three kills.
- A block from Rodriguez and Foreman brought the Tigers within two in the second set, 6-4.
- A 3-0 run by the Wolverines put them up 14-8 on the Tigers. LSU called its first timeout of the set.
- The Tigers went on a 6-2 run to come within five, 21-16. That run included an ace from Lindsay Flory, a couple kills from Bannister and a big block by Rodriguez and Foreman.
- The Tigers tried to hold off Michigan late with kills from Flory and Armer, but Michigan took the third and final set, 25-20.
