Dave Haskin Named Asst. AD For Athletics Marketing

BATON ROUGE – LSU Athletics announced on Friday that Dave Haskin has joined the department as Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing.

Haskin comes to LSU after serving as the Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa since 2013.

Haskin will manage the Athletic Marketing efforts in all 21 sports for LSU Athletics and oversee the Marketing and Fan Experience staff at LSU.

“Dave brings a wealth of experience, talent and vision to lead our marketing team,” said Senior Associate AD Robert Munson. “We’re glad he’s a Tiger.”

While at Drake, Haskin was responsible for all designs, branding and installation of facility graphics and led a $2.5 million project to upgrade video board and audio equipment at Drake Stadium along with installation of a new field turf and track surface. He also oversaw the school’s Athletics Trademark and Licensing program and created the first-ever policies and procedures manual for the athletics department.

Prior to going to Drake he was at the University of Oklahoma, first as Assistant Director of Marketing (2004-06) and then as Director of Marketing (2006-13).

The member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) graduated from St. Olaf College with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in history in 2001. He earned three letters as a member of the school’s football team. He received his Master of Science in Sports Administration from the Univeristy of Wisconsin-La Crosse in August, 2004.

Prior to graduation, he served as an intern with Miami University, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Haskin, 39, is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio. Haskin and his wife, April, have two children, Sam and Emily.
