BATON ROUGE — LSU Athletics, in conjunction with SportsBR (formerly Baton Rouge Area Sports Foundation) and FRESHJUNKIE Racing, are excited to open registration for the second-annual Tiger 10K.

Registration for the Tiger 10K races will open Monday, July 23, at noon CT on the race’s official website www.Tiger10K.com

Register Starting July 23

This year’s multi-race event will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, and will take place in and around LSU’s campus and finish in the shadows of Death Valley in the Scotty Moran Champions Plaza, an area designated to commemorate LSU All-Americans and members of the College Football Hall of Fame.

Update on Oct. 31, 2018: It was initially announced that this year’s event would not be finishing on the 50-yard line, as Tiger Stadium’s playing surface was scheduled to be replaced immediately following LSU’s final home football game of the 2018 season. However, accommodations have been made allowing the races to end on the 50-yard line of Tiger Stadium.

The race offers 5k, 10k and Kids Mile options. Participants will “Race To Death Valley” followed by a post-race celebration outside the stadium featuring music, food, and refreshments. The first 500 5K and first 500 10K registrants will receive special discounted pricing. Last year’s inaugural race had 4,600 registered runners. This year’s race has set sell out numbers at 2,000 5K runners, 2,000 10K runners and 1,000 Kids Mile runners.

“SportsBR is again excited to partner with LSU Athletics and FRESHJUNKIE Racing to bring this first-class event back to our community for a second year,” said President & CEO of SportsBR Eric Engemann.

“We are looking forward to implementing some runner-focused improvements this year that will enhance the overall quality of the event for participants and spectators alike,” said Jonathan Dziuba, Race Director and co-owner of FRESHJUNKIE Racing. “This truly is a unique experience for our community and LSU fans from across the nation. We are honored to be a part of something so powerful.”

LSU Athletics, SportsBR and FRESHJUNKIE Racing are proud to be hosting the second annual Tiger 10K as it is a unique running experience that will attract traditional runners, novice runners and those who make this their first race. The LSU Student Athlete Life Skills Program will be the beneficiary of the event, with a portion of the Tiger 10K proceeds supporting total student-athlete development within the LSU campus and community.
