De Antonio 1-Over At NCAA Tallahassee Regional

BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU women’s golfer Claudia De Antonio shot 1-over 73 in the Second Round of the 2018 NCAA Tallahassee Regional to finish the day tied for 34th place. She was the top individual finisher in the round of the six individuals invited to the regional tournament.

After getting behind at 2-over thru the first four holes, the senior from Caracas, Venezuela, dropped to 1-over by the turn with a birdie for the second day in a row on the 470-yard par 5 No. 9 hole. De Antonio hit seven pars, a bogey on hole No. 11 and a birdie on the 15th hole to finish the back nine at even par.

De Antonio is battling for a chance to advance to the NCAA Championship at Karsten Creek Golf Club on May 18-23 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She will need to be one of the top three finishers not on one of the six advancing teams out of the Tallahassee Regional to earn a slot in Stillwater.

Her Third Round tee time is set for 7:50 a.m. CT off of Hole No. 1 at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course. No. 2 Alabama took over the team lead on Day Two at 12-under for the round to put them at 18-under for the tournament. Wake Forest’s Jennifer Kupcho tops the individual leader board at 10-under, following today’s round with an 8-under 64.
