BATON ROUGE — LSU women’s tennis captain Ryann Foster was named to the 2018 SEC Community Service team, the league office announced Tuesday.
The senior was recognized by the conference for her outstanding efforts in the Baton Rouge community and for representing LSU in a positive manner throughout her career.
“I’ve had so many people help me out and leave a lasting impact on me throughout my life,” Foster said. “To be able to give a fraction of that support back to the community is so important to me and something I look forward to continuing in the future.”
Foster participated in LSU’s 22nd annual Halloween BOO-zar, a free event for Baton Rouge area children and their families to enjoy trick-or-treating, carnival games and costumes while interacting with LSU student-athletes and coaches before Halloween. Foster and the rest of the women’s tennis team also participated in Thanksgiving with the Tigers, a Thanksgiving and Christmas themed community event where student-athletes adopt a child from the Big Buddy Program and provide them with Christmas presents as they share a Thanksgiving meal together with their families.
In addition to these events, Foster also helped collect and distribute resources donated by the community along with other student-athletes to send to victims of the flooding in Houston.
