LSU Women Move Up to No. 2 in the USTFCCCA Rankings

BATON ROUGE, La. – After registering three top-10 national marks at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla., over the weekend, the LSU women’s track and field team has moved up to No. 2 in the latest U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association rankings that were released Monday afternoon.

The main reason for the rise in the rankings was Ersula Farrow‘s fantastic 800 meter race. The junior from Detroit, Mich., clocked a career-best readout of 2:03.66 to garner silver. Her time ranks third nationally and second in the SEC.

The women’s 4×400 meter relay squad of Kymber Payne, Cassondra Hall, Oksana Lawrence and Brittley Humphrey registered a season-best time of 3:33.91 to claim the top spot at the Hurricane Collegiate Invitational; the time of 3:33.91 ranks as the ninth quickest time in the NCAA. The final top-10 mark of the weekend came via Mikiah Brisco‘s 22.83 that she clocked in the 200 meter dash. The time for the Baton Rouge native was a personal best and ranks No. 10 nationally.

LSU will host its second outdoor meet of the season on Saturday (April 21) at the Bernie Moore Track and Field Stadium.
