Former Tiger Temple Wins Robertson Award

BATON ROUGE – Former LSU Tiger and now NBA star Garrett Temple has been awarded the Oscar Robertson Triple-Double Award for the second straight year by his team, the Sacramento Kings.

The award has been given by the team annually since initial recipient Chris Webber in 2003. Corliss Williamson in 2006 and 2007 is the only other King to receive the award in back-to-back years.

The award was established in honor of the tremendous impact Oscar Robertson has had throughout his life on the court and in the community. A Kings player is selected each season and presented the award.

The triple signifies on-the-court influence: leadership, sportsmanship and outstanding all-around game. The double signifies off-the-court commitment to community service and family.

Temple is finishing his eighth NBA season and ninth in professional basketball. He is finishing the second year of a three-year contract with the Kings.
