Lady Tigers Have Tough Day At Brickyard
MACON, Ga. – The LSU women’s golf team is in 12th place after the first round of The Brickyard Collegiate, presented by Mizuno. The Lady Tigers were tied for third in the field with 10 birdies on the day and were second in Par 3 scoring at 3-over and a 3.15 average.
LSU senior Claudia De Antonio holds the lowest score for the Lady Tigers after the first round at 5-over 77. Rookie Mary Frances Chauvin is second at 7-over and posted three of the team’s 10 birdies. Senior Sydney Cavin and junior Kathleen Gallagher added their scores to the team total for a combined 319 for the initial round.
Vanderbilt leads the tournament at 6-over par by eight shots over Old Dominion, Chattanooga and Virginia Tech. The weather presented challenges with cold temperatures, and wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour during the day.
The second round will start at 7:30 a.m. CT with LSU teeing off in the first group on No. 10 at 7:50 a.m. CT with Jacksonville and East Tennessee State. Live results will be available at BirdieFire.com.
