Brisco Remains on The Bowerman 2018 Watch List

BATON ROUGE – LSU senior sprinter Mikiah Brisco remains on The Bowerman 2018 Women’s Watch List that was released this afternoon leading into next week’s NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Bowerman is awarded to the top male and female collegiate athletes in NCAA Track & Field.

The Baton Rouge native continued her strong season among the SEC’s best in College Station, Texas as she won the title in the women’s 60-meter dash. Brisco paced all finalists in 7.10 seconds, tying her career-best set earlier in the year at the New Mexico Classic. She still holds the nation’s No. 1 time in the event.

Brisco also set a personal-best in the 200-meter over the weekend of a blistering 22.81 seconds. The senior placed second in the event, trailing only Lynna Irby from Georgia who came in at 22.66 seconds. After the past weekend’s action, these marks stand as the nation’s top two times of the 2018 indoor season according to TFRRS.

The Bowerman Watch List will be updated throughout the 2018 NCAA indoor and outdoor track & field seasons with the semifinalists set for announcement on June 13. For more information on The Bowerman Award, visit
