Women's Golf to Start Spring at Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU women’s golf team travels down the street to New Orleans for its first tournament of the spring on Feb. 18-20. The Lady Tigers will compete in the ninth annual Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate at English Turn Golf & Country Club.

The par-72 tournament, hosted by Tulane, will feature 17 teams as part of split tee starts on Sunday and Monday and a shotgun start for the final round on Tuesday. Six of the teams are currently ranked in the top-25 – No. 9 Oklahoma State, No. 10 USC, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 21 Florida, 22 Denver and No. 24 Houston.

The Lady Tigers look to start the spring season off strong after finishing the fall with a tie for sixth place at the Landfall Tradition. Senior Claudia De Antonio will try to keep her solid play going, as she tied her low round for the season, 70, in her last round of the fall. Fellow senior Sydney Cavin and junior Kathleen Gallagher are looking to be big contributors, as they are carry team leading scoring averages.
