No. 2 Gymnastics Hosts No. 6 Kentucky Friday
BATON ROUGE – No. 2 LSU (5-1, 3-0 SEC) returns to the Maravich Center at 7:30 p.m. CT Friday to take on No. 6 Kentucky (5-1, 2-1 SEC) in a key Southeastern Conference matchup.
The Tigers and Wildcats will meet on the SEC Network for the second selection of Friday Night Heights. John Roethlisberger (play-by-play) and Lauren Sisler (analyst) will have the call for the meet. First vault for the teams is scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
Breaux Previews SEC Showdown
“Our conversation has changed a little bit and our training turned a corner,” head coach D-D Breaux said. “We’ve had a really good week of training in getting ready for a really good Kentucky team. They are a team that competes with a high level of difficulty and with great consistency. This will be as good of a meet that we’ve had in the PMAC.”

Friday night is the Student Point Meet and all LSU students are admitted free with a valid student ID. The first 500 students in attendance will receive a free Canes three-finger combo. Doors for LSU students open at 5:45 p.m.
The matchup is expected to draw a second-straight sellout as tickets are going fast. There will be thousands of gold pom poms out on seats and it’s the annual Mardi Gras meet. Doors for non-student entrances will open at 6 p.m.
Fans are reminded that LSU’s Geaux Clear policy is in effect for all sports. LSU has gone undefeated inside the Maravich Center for four-straight seasons. The Tigers’ current record since the 2014 season stands at 30-0. During that stretch, LSU has beaten No. 7/9 Alabama, No. 14 Auburn, No. 2/3 Florida, No. 9 Georgia, No. 16 Minnesota and No. 1 Oklahoma. The last loss in the Maravich Center came to Alabama in 2013.
LSU-Kentucky Series History
LSU is 77-5 overall against Kentucky. The Tigers own a record of 22-1 over the Wildcats at home. The lone loss to the Wildcats came during the 1996 season. This is the highest ranked Kentucky team to come in the PMAC since the 1998 squad, which was ranked fifth nationally.
