Former Coach To Join Coach Wade For Tipoff Luncheon

BATON ROUGE – Former LSU basketball coach and now LSU Sports Radio Network color analyst John Brady will be the guest with Coach Will Wade Tuesday, Jan. 2, when the first 2018 edition of the Tipoff Luncheon Presented by UPS takes place at L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge.

The monthly gatherings for good food and basketball conversation are open to the public and there should be plenty to talk about coming off a 71-61 road win at Memphis last Thursday that gave Coach Wade his 100th career win in his five years as head basketball coach at Chattanooga, VCU and LSU. The Tigers will also be on the eve of the first Southeastern Conference game of the season on Wednesday against the University of Kentucky (7:30 p.m., LSUTix.net).

Coach Brady is in his first year as analyst with “Voice of the Tigers” Chris Blair. He was the head coach at LSU in men’s basketball for 11 seasons, winning two SEC titles and taking the Tigers to the Sweet 16 in 2000 and the NCAA Final Four in 2006 with a group of local players that basically grew up together playing basketball in the area.

The L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge is located off Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge and the event will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet. The Buffet in available at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:10 p.m. The all-you-can-eat buffet is located on the ground floor of the hotel in the casino area.

To get to the L’Auberge Hotel and Casino Baton Rouge from the LSU area, follow LA-30 N. /Nicholson Drive. Turn left onto L’Auberge Crossing Drive and follow the signs to L’Auberge Baton Rouge.
