BATON ROUGE – LSU Basketball and Coach Will Wade will team with Coaching For Literacy in a Fight For Literacy Game on Friday against North Florida at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Game time is 7 p.m.
Coaching for Literacy’s Fight for Literacy Games brings coaches, fans and teams together in common cause: ensuring our children can read.
The Tigers join over 25 NCAA programs in the effort including fellow SEC members: Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt.
To promote the Fight for Literacy, the LSU coaching staff will wear Coaching for Literacy’s Green for Literacy awareness apparel provided by Peter Millar.
“We are honored to partner with Coaching for Literacy in an effort to support young students in Louisiana,” said LSU head coach Will Wade. “Literacy is key issue facing our community and I am honored to take part in an effort that will create a brighter future in our great state.”
LSU fans can Fight for Literacy by pledging a donation for each assist the Tigers make from Dec. 22 – Jan. 6. One hundred percent of all funds raised will benefit the following local literacy programs: Central Elementary (Bogalusa), Fairview-Alpha Elementary (Campti), Mansfield Elementary and the Big Buddy Program (Baton Rouge).
