BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team, the defending Southeastern Conference champions, will give fans across the country a preview of the 2018 squad with the fifth annual Gymnastics 101 Showcase at 6:30 p.m. Monday inside the Maravich Center.
The event is free and open to the public with doors opening at 5 p.m. Gym 101 serves as an exhibition meet with the team running through lineups and routines on all four events. A judge will be hon hand to score the routines. Head coach D-D Breaux, associate head coach Jay Clark and assistant coach Bob Moore will also be on the mic to give fans a rundown of the routines.
“We really try to make the most out of this event,” Breaux said. “Other teams can practice where they compete so we use 101 to mimic a real meet. This is the first time we’ll be landing on hard surfaces so it will be an adjustment from how we train.”
“For our program, we want to start with a big statement and win the battle of perception. We want people across the country to know that LSU has its act together and they’re ready for the season. If we send out the message early then the team will really develop into a team to be recognized.”
Holy Cow T-Shirt Pickup
Season ticket holders attending Gym 101 will have a chance to pick up the 2017 “Holy Cow” t-shirts using their vouchers. T-shirts will be passed out at portal C on the south side of the concourse near the ticket office.
Season Tickets Still Available
Although the program surpassed 5,000 season ticket holders, tickets for all six home meets are still available. Season tickets will be available for purchase behind section 220 in the arena. Tickets begin at $30 for adults and $18 for youth ages 3-12.

North Stadium Drive will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 4:30 p.m. Lots 201 and 300 off of North Stadium Drive will be reserved.
