Men's Tennis Duo Victorious at Oracle/ITA Masters

MALIBU, Calif. – Day two of the Oracle/ITA Masters event showed promise for LSU’s Jordan Daigle and Boris Arias with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Baylor’s Julian Lenz and Max Tchoutakian.

This LSU team, after a slow start in round one, found their rhythm and carried it through to day two of the tournament.

They came out today and they stuck with it and they played solid against a very good Baylor team,” Assistant Coach Danny Bryan said. “They were just able to capitalize on a couple of opportunities and that was the difference in the match.”

The Tigers came out ready to play against the No. 15 ranked Bears’ duo. After falling behind 2-3 in the first set, Daigle and Arias picked up their intensity, avoiding a deficit for the remainder of the match.

Sunday, Arias and Daigle will play in the consolation championship against Austin Smith and Ben Wagland of the University of Georgia who were ranked No.1 in the Oracle/ITA preseason polls.
