Men's Tennis Ready for Fifth Match of Homestand
BATON ROUGE, La. — The No. 42 LSU men’s tennis team (7-1) will host Rice University (5-5) on Sunday at noon in W. T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium as their fifth consecutive home match since Jan. 31 against Purdue.
The Tigers are undefeated on this home stand, including four consecutive 7-0 sweeps against Purdue, Jackson State twice and Alcorn State. LSU will look to make it five consecutive sweeps on Sunday as well as their second consecutive win over Rice.
“We are ready for a strong challenge from Rice,” said head coach Jeff Brown. “Last year we came away with a 4-3 win on the road that came down to a third-set tiebreaker so they have our full attention. We have both added a player or two since then as well so the level of play will be high throughout the lineup.”
This is LSU’s second-to-last match before conference play opens at home against Tennessee on Friday, Feb. 27.
