BATON ROUGE – The LSU men’s and women’s cross country teams have been recognized for the second-straight season for their outstanding performance in the classroom by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as they have earned All-Academic Team honors from the organization for the 2014 cross country season.

The Tigers are among 179 men’s programs and the Lady Tigers are among 226 women’s programs picking up the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award for the 2014 season in Wednesday’s announcement.

LSU also helped the Southeastern Conference lead the pack among all conferences nationwide with all 14 women’s programs and 11 men’s programs earning the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award for 2014. The SEC tied the Big Ten Conference with 14 women’s team selections and led the 10 team selections by the Atlantic Coast Conference on the men’s side to lead all conferences in NCAA cross country.

The Lady Tigers maintained an impressive 3.50 team GPA in 2014 while proving themselves among LSU’s top athletic programs in the classroom over the past year. The Tigers were impressive in their own right with the 3.40 team GPA they posted in 2014 en route to sweeping USTFCCCA All-Academic Team awards for the University.
