Women's Tennis Holds Spot in ITA Rankings

BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU women’s tennis team (5-1) remains at No. 37 and the team of Abby Owens and Skylar Kuykendall made an appearance on the doubles ranking released by the ITA on Tuesday. 

Owens and Kuykendall are ranked No. 60 in doubles. The duo holds a 1-2 record in dual meets this season.

Joana Vale Costa is ranked at 28 after four matches. Vale Costa holds a 3-1 record on court one for the Lady Tigers.

Kuykendall, the transfer from Memphis, is at 87 in the singles poll. The junior is 5-1 on the year with a perfect 4-0 record on courts two and three. Kuykendall is also 1-1 in court one. 

With the team ranked at No. 37, LSU has reached its highest spot under head coach Julia S. Sell.

The Lady Tigers return to North Carolina to face Wake Forest at 3 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 13 and NC State at 10 a.m. CT on Sunday, Feb. 15.
