Junior catcher/designated hitter Kade Scivicque led the Tigers in hitting last week, batting .400 (6-for-15) in four games with one double, one homer, two RBI and two runs … Scivicque is also LSU’s leading hitter on the year, batting .372 (32-for-86) with four doubles, three homers and 16 RBI … junior infielder Conner Hale batted .375 (6-for-16) in four games last week with one double and three runs scored … Hale is batting a team-best .324 (11-for-34) in the Tigers’ nine SEC games with one double and four runs scored … junior outfielder Chris Sciambra launched the first home run of his career on Sunday at Florida, a two-run blast … freshman outfielder Jake Fraley hit .429 (3-for-7) in two starts last week with one double, two RBI, one run, one steal and a sacrifice bunt … junior right-hander Aaron Nola increased his SEC-leading strikeouts total to 61, as he recorded five Ks in 8.2 innings at Florida on Saturday … Nola, the 2013 SEC Pitcher of the Year, is 5-1 this season with a 0.55 ERA in 49 innings; he has nine walks and 61 strikeouts, and opponents are batting just .151 against him … senior right-hander Kurt McCune fired five shutout innings in two appearances last week against Tulane and Florida … McCune did not allow a hit in five innings while recording two walks and five strikeouts … LSU is 20-0 this season when leading after eight innings, and the Tigers are 13-3 when scoring first … LSU has played 10 errorless games this season, and the Tigers are 9-0-1 in those contests … LSU is 16-7 when the opponent starts a right-handed pitcher, and the Tigers are 4-1-1 when the opponent starts a left-hander.
