Men's Swimming Travels to NCAA Championships

BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU Men’s Swimming and Diving team will have one individual qualifier and four relay participants at NCAA Championships March 27-29 hosted at the Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.

Frank Greeff is the lone Tiger individual qualifier. Tyler Crosson, Marco Gonzalez, Alex Linge and Michael Saco will join Greeff and compete in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

“The men’s meet is a completely different animal than the women’s meet,” LSU Swimming coach Dave Geyer said. “We go out there with the same expectations as every other meet. It’s all about swimming fast and earning as many points as you can. Qualifying is just a step in the bigger goal.

Prelims of NCAA’s begin at 11 a.m. each day. Finals will follow at 7 each evening.

Live video of all preliminary rounds in addition to the day one finals will be available at TexasSports.com.  ESPN3.com and the WatchESPN mobile application will offer live video to subscribers during the day two and day three finals sessions.

Live results for the championships will be available at http://www.ncaa.com/.

This season, Greeff set the school record in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:43.66. The junior also owns the second and third-fastest times in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly. The South Africa native was also a part of the 800-freestyle relay and 400-medley relay teams that set program records last season.

Saco, Gonzalez, Linge and Crosson went 1:18.07 at the Bulldog Last Chance Meet in the 200-freestyle relay. Linge, Gonzalez, Crosson and Greeff finished in 2:54.76 at SEC Championships in the 400-freestyle relay.
