Men's Tennis Completes Mississippi Trip in Oxford

OXFORD, Miss. – The LSU men’s tennis team travels to Oxford, Miss., for a Sunday afternoon conference matchup with No. 45 Ole Miss at 1 p.m. at Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.

“We’re looking to build on the new double combinations that were successful,” said LSU head coach Jeff Brown. “We’re looking for one more guy to get over that hump and see what we can do. We want to play hard and come out with a win.”

LSU (9-9, 0-6 SEC) is coming off of a 4-2 loss to No. 22 Mississippi State on Friday afternoon in Starkville. Ole Miss (5-8, 3-4 SEC) is coming off of a 4-2 win over No. 71 Arkansas. LSU leads the match series 45-17, which includes a 4-3 win over then-No. 7 Ole Miss.

In the rankings for LSU, Chris Simpson is ranked No. 62 in singles. For Ole Miss, Nik Scholtz is ranked No. 44 in singles. William Kallberg is No. 89 in the singles rankings. In doubles, Ole Miss’ Nik Scholtz and Johan Backstrom are ranked No. 79.
