Gymnastics Maintains No. 1 Ranking

BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team is ranked No. 1 in the nation for the third consecutive week after the updated GymInfo standings were released Monday.

It ties the 2005 team for the most weeks at No. 1 in a season. In 2005 LSU was No. 1 on Feb. 21, March 14 and April 21 entering the NCAA Championships.

LSU (9-3, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) retained the top spot after a 197.500 score in a victory against North Carolina State bumped up the Tigers’ regional qualifying score (RQS) from 197.605 to 197.660 in the latest standings.

Oklahoma jumped Florida for No. 2 in the rankings with a 197.640 RQS, and the Gators are third at 197.565. Alabama stayed put at No. 4 with a 197.320 RQs, and Utah moved up to No. 5 at 197.225.

LSU is No. 1 on vault with a 49.545 RQS, and the Tigers are No. 3 on beam (49.280) and floor (49.490) and No. 5 on bars at 49.375.

Rheagan Courville is No. 3 nationally in the all-around with a 39.595 RQS, and she is No. 4 on vault (9.935), No. 7 on beam (9.90), No. 8 on floor (9.935) and No. 9 on bars (9.905).

Jessie Jordan is No. 6 in the all-around with a 39.495 RQS, No. 2 on beam at 9.920 and No. 20 on vault at 9.90.

Kaleigh Dickson gives LSU three all-arounders in the Top 15 as she is No. 12 with a 39.380 RQS.

Sarie Morrison ranks fourth on bars with a 9.935 RQS, and she is eighth on vault with a 9.925 RQS.

Lloimincia Hall is No. 3 nationally on floor at 9.960, while Britney Ranzy is 20th on bars at 9.880 and Jessica Savona is 21st on floor at 9.890.

LSU will take on Kentucky at 7 p.m. CT Friday in the Maravich Center. The meet is Senior Night, and six seniors will be honored prior to the meet: Dickson, Casey Duvall, Lainie Fleming, Mckenzie Fox, Maliah Mathis and Morrison.
