Lady Tigers Wrap Up SEC Weekend at No. 8 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 41 LSU women’s tennis team will face No. 8 Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. CT on Sunday in Nashville, Tenn.
 
“Vanderbilt has had a great start to the year and they have earned their way into the Top 10,” said LSU head coach Julia Sell.  “They are a solid team with a lot of depth, and they always compete well.”
 
The Lady Tigers are 7-3 on the season and 0-1 in the SEC after dropping a 4-1 decision to No. 31 Kentucky on Friday.  Abigail Owens notched a point for LSU as she defeated Kentucky’s Edmee Morin-Kougoucheff in a thrilling three-setter 6-1, 2-6, 6-4. 
 
Vanderbilt is 8-3 on the season and 1-0 in the SEC after defeating Arkansas 7-0 on Friday. 
 
Vanderbilt leads the series with LSU 23-14 after the Commodores topped the Lady Tigers 4-0 in their last meeting during the SEC tournament on April 18, 2013.
