Men's Tennis Concludes Fall at Bulldog Scramble

ATHENS, Ga. – The LSU men’s tennis team will wrap up fall play this weekend as they travel to Athens, Ga., for the 2013 Bulldog Scramble hosted by the University of Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

“This tournament has a strong field that will give us a good idea of what areas are working and which areas need work,” head coach Jeff Brown said. “The team is ready to play again after a bit of a lull in the schedule.”

The tournament is set to start this Friday, Nov. 8, and last through Sunday, Nov. 10. The tournament is a round-robin format, so there are no singles or doubles draws. There will be 37 players competing from seven schools: East Tennessee State, Furman, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt.

The last action the Tigers saw was at the ITA Southern Regional in Tuscaloosa, Ala., in early October, and they had a strong showing. The LSU doubles duo of Chris Simpson and Boris Arias made it all the way to the final round of the doubles main draw and they look to continue their strong play this weekend in Athens.
