Eggleston Named to SEC Soccer Service Team

BATON ROUGE – LSU Soccer senior Addie Eggleston has been recognized by the Southeastern Conference for her efforts in serving the Baton Rouge community over the past year as she was one of 14 players named to the SEC Community Service Team for women’s soccer by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon.

Eggleston served more than 40 community service hours during the 2013 fall semester as a leader of the LSU Soccer program off the field during her senior season.

She kicked off the semester by leading LSU Soccer’s efforts at LSU Move-In Day, where the players welcomed incoming freshmen to campus and helped them move into their dorms. She has also been a volunteer for the staff at the Baton Rouge Food Bank while organizing other volunteers and sorting food for the organization.

Eggleston has also served as a mentor of local youth in Baton Rouge while volunteering with the Kids Hope USA program, for which she has served as a mentor to an elementary school student in Baton Rouge. She has even helped lead a series of soccer clinics for local youth throughout the 2013 fall semester.

A native of Houston, Texas, Eggleston wrapped up her four-year collegiate career on Monday night in the first round of the 2013 SEC Women’s Soccer Tournament as the No. 7-seeded Tigers fell to No. 10 seed Auburn in overtime by a 1-0 margin in the match played at the Orange Beach Sportsplex in Orange Beach, Ala. Eggleston wrapped up her career while making 84 appearances with 75 starts, scoring seven goals and recording 19 assists for 33 points from 2010-13. Her 10 assists ranks in a tie for the No. 4 spot on LSU’s all-time career list in the category.
